Our community is developing
an Active Transportation
Plan!
When implemented, this plan will make it easier and safer for people to bike, walk, use a wheelchair, or connect to transit to get to daily destinations. It’s all about creating more safe, accessible ways for people to be active and get where they need to go!
What is Active Transportation? Active Transportation is a broad term that includes all forms of human-powered transportation –even those with a little electric boost!
- Active transportation includes walking, biking, using scooters or skateboards, micromobility devices like e-bikes or e-scooters, wheelchairs and other mobility aids.
- These modes may be used as the primary means of transportation, or
to access public transit.

Meeting Notes
The Plan will create a framework for establishing a safe, accessible, connected walking and biking network through the identification of specific projects and routes that can be developed or enhanced to improve safety and increase access to transit and other everyday destinations. It will also identify programs and policies that support and encourage active transportation.
The Plan will serve as a strategic tool to help articulate our vision, needs, and potential for enhancing mobility, safety, and quality of life, thereby increasing our chances of securing funding for projects.
Who benefits?
Everyone! Expanding active transportation options and making walking and biking safer, will help create a more vibrant community, reduce traffic-related crashes, lower the risk of chronic health conditions, and lessen our impact on the environment.
